Christmas Summit was held in Saint Petersburg

On the 19th of December the participants of St. Petersburg real estate market gathered to take part in traditional annual pre-holiday meeting - Christmas Summit of the Guild of Property Managers and Developers. On New Year Eve experts discussed trends of the outgoing year, reported totals of commercial and residential real estate, as well as shared opinion and forecasts for the year of 2014.

Lyudmila Reva, director of ASTERA an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estate, spoke about the retail segment marked by a record entry of new shopping centres which amounted 280,2 thou. sq. m. This provided a 10% increase compared to the previous year. Residents of Saint Petersburg are provided with high-quality retail space, the index of which reached 612 sq. m. per 1,000 inhabitants. This allows Russia’s Northern capital to take leading position in the retail market of Russia.

"In 2014, the shopping centres market will be developed through redevelopment projects and reconceptions, as well as land development outside the Ring Road. I am also confident in the continuing activity growth of investment sector in St. Petersburg, marked in the past year with a noticeable number of large transactions in all segments of the commercial real estate market", - noted Lyudmila Reva.
