The First in St. Petersburg Conceptual German Shoes Salon THOMAS MÜNZ Opens in Nevskij Prospect with ASTERA Assistance

On April 29, 2012, the first in Saint Petersburg conceptual salon of German shoes under the brand name of THOMAS MÜNZ will be opened in Nevskij prospect. ASTERA, an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estate, has rendered services on space selection for the salon.
THOMAS MÜNZ is one of the brands of German shoes manufacturer MÜNZ - SCHUHFABRIK GmbH. Shoes THOMAS MÜNZ are produced at manufacturing plants located in Europe, South America and South-Eastern Asia. The whole manufacturing process is performed under supervision of the company’s head office.
At the present moment THOMAS MÜNZ shoes are distributed in Russia through the chain of corporate salons THOMAS MÜNZ and M.SHOES, as well as through multi-brand shops, located in 53 regions. The head office of this retail chain is located in Moscow.
Since the beginning of 2011, the company is performing re-branding of its corporate chain and is planning to change format of corporate stores M.SHOES into THOMAS MÜNZ salons during a year, by adopting single salon format.

“Our company has embraced a strategy of introducing the corporate chain THOMAS MÜNZ to new regions in the nearest years to come,” – says Dmitrij Glazin, the Commercial Director at the company, – “We start entering market of each region from opening our first salon in the best location of the city, thus allowing to quickly boost brand recognition. That is why the company opens its first flagman salon THOMAS MÜNZ in Nevskij prospect of Saint Petersburg. In the long view the company is planning to actively develop the corporate retail chain in North-Western region”.
Salon in Nevskij prospect will occupy a space of 165 sq. m., wherein another shoe retailer was located earlier. A concept new for this brand will be implemented in the salon. Austere European design of the salon was elaborated by German design-bureau ‘Reichundwamser’, which specializes in retail projects starting from retail shops to up-to-date shopping centres. In the future the concept will be replicated in newly-opened salons.
“A tendency, which appeared on the market of in-built space after the crisis of 2008, remains actual: the tenants prefer leasing space, earlier occupied by a retailer of the similar segment. It allows the retailer to open a shop within the tight time schedule,” – says Lyudmila Reva, the Director at ASTERA, an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estate, – “Since the beginning of 2012 our company has closed a number of lease transactions for space in central streets of St. Petersburg, which resulted in replacement of one shoe operator with another. In Kirochnaya street an ABC Shoes shop was opened and a Hogl store will soon be introduced to Vladimirskij prospect – both will take up space earlier occupied by the chain ‘Shag navstrechu’”. << Return to the list
