A new hypermarket «Megastil» is opening in St.Petersburg with the participation of ASTERA

On Feb,16 the fifth hypermarket of second hand branded clothes «Megastil» is opening in St.Petersburg. The company «Megastil» rented premises with area 1700 square metres at Skachkov per., bld.5 in the shopping complex of the same name. Brokers of the deal were ASTERA in alliance with BNP Paribas Real Estate.

Chain stores are classified as «medium\medium+». According to the research of «Megastil», the majority of customers are women aged 35-45 and men aged 25-35.

«Megastil» hypermarkets are not located within walking distance. The concept of the chain development includes opening of stores in so-called bedroom districts distant from the city centre. “In the coverage area of any hypermarket there are several city districts at once, and a new store in the district «Rybatckoye” covers even nearby suburbs of St.Petersburg. Due to this fact, transport access and nearness to Metro (Subway) are one of the main factors considered in the process of choosing premises. Good location combined with high quality service, novelty of format and other competitive advantages of this trade network let us attract customers and make the project successful», noted Svetlana Chernisheva, the head of the department of the project brokerage of ASTERA in alliance with BNP Paribas Real Estate.

New hypermarket will correspond to «Megastil» standarts, such as spacious hall, about 40 000 names of goods, plenty of fitting rooms, a cafe, recreation area, satellite television. In addition there will be a dry-cleaner’s, pharmacy and other leaseholders.
Today in St.Petersburg there are 4 working hypermarkets «Megastil» and 3 hypermarkets (one of which is located in Moscow) are about to open within the next few months. In 2013-2014 «Megastil» is planning to open 15 hypermarkets with area from 1 000 to 10 000 square metres.

«Megastil» is the first federal chain of hypermarkets specialized in selling second hand goods. The uniqueness of the project is based on a new approach to the buyer who is used to the stereotypes of the 90s – goods displayed on folded tables, open-air bazaars and similar trade formats. Today not every Russian buyer associates second hand store with a store of European format which provides for convenient navigation system and parking area, shopping carts, food-courts with free drinks and most importantly - a huge range of goods. We have a discount program in our hypermarkets implying the issuance of discount cards for each customer, who bought goods for at least 3000 roubles and more. We want our client to know that dressing in «Megastil» is fashionable. We are first in Russia who ventured on this experiment and it turned out to be successful for us», Alexandr Ayvazyan, marketing director of the company «Megastil», says.
