Saint Petersburg Institute Of Psychology and Acmeology Moves to Obukhovskoj Oborony Prospect with ASTERA Assistance

ASTERA, an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estate, has served as a broker in transaction of lease by Saint Petersburg institute of psychology and acmeology of 910 sq.m. in class B business centre located in Obukhovskoj oborony prospect.

Saint Petersburg institute of psychology and acmeology is an educational institution providing education and research. The institute was established in 1995 and is the first high education institution of acmeologic profile in Russia. Since 2005 the Institute has been located in the building in Zhdanovskaya embankment formerly possessed by floating restaurant ‘Parus’. The necessity to lease new space occurred when the City Property Management Committee issued the order to free the embankments, including Zhdanovskaya embankment, from large-scale objects.
The main parameters of new space search for the Institute were walking distance from the underground station, as well as sufficient space to accommodate all the Institute staff and to arrange auditoriums and classrooms for teaching students. Besides, one of the crucial requirements was the possibility to install and connect the equipment, necessary for the quality educational process. “A large number of students get education in our Institute, that is why it is necessary that educational process in the new building will be arranged at the adequate level,” – the Vice-Rector of Saint Petersburg institute of psychology and acmeology N. Sokolova says.

The business centre, wherein at the present moment the Institute occupies one floor, was considered the optimal solution. “We are developing. In January 2012 already our students will have an opportunity to study using distance technologies. The Institute has got perfectly integrated into the business centre and keeps preparing new qualified specialists,” – the Vice-Rector adds.

“Obukhovskoj oborony prospect is gradually losing its industrial area status. A new business activities zone is being actively formed here, new up-to-date quality office projects meeting the requirements of classes B and B+ and being in high demand among the tenants emerge in this area. This year our company has closed a large number of lease transactions for office space located there,” – Alexandra Smirnova, the Head of Office Department in ASTERA, an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estate, says – “The main advantage of this location is convenient transport access. The vicinity of Bolshoj Obukhovskij bridge, the Ring Road and Obukhovskoj oborony prospect allows to easily reach any city district by car. The walking distance from the underground station provides convenience for those who use public transport. In 15 minutes time with no changes one can get to the central part of Saint Petersburg,” – the expert notes.
